LIST OF REQUIREMENTS FOR CATHOLIC WEDDINGS IN THE CHURCHES OF: PARROQUIA NUESTRA SENORA DEL PILAR AND OUR LADY OF CARMEN DE CAP CANA.
- Proof of the marriage preparation course.
- Birth certificate of both
- Baptism certificate of both (with annotation of confirmation or nullity of marriage – if it is the case).
- Civil marriage certificate or civil divorce (if it is the case).
- Death certificate (if applicable).
- Certificate of singleness. (in case of not being civilly married).
- Letter from the Priest of the parish of origin authorizing the catholic marriage in Punta Cana.
- Copy of the Cédula (for Dominicans only) or passport (Foreigners) of both.
- Full address of the bride and groom and trade they perform (job or profession).
- Complete address of the parents of the bride and groom.
- Copy of the identity card (for Dominicans only) or passport (Foreigners) of the witnesses, the address where they live and employment.
- If the couple has children procreated by both parties, they must bring a copy of the birth and baptism certificate of each of their children.
- All documents for the catholic wedding in Punta Cana must be sent at least fifteen days in advance for review purposes.
- Marriages are celebrated in SPANISH and vows can be pronounced in English (if applicable). If you want that your catholic wedding will be celebrated in English, so contact to Caribbean Wedding agency.
- The couple must specify if they want the catholic marriage with Holy Mass or without it. If it is with Mass, they will take into account that it lasts a little longer.
- It is an indispensable requirement to marry in the Church, to confess, if they have not done it, they must tell the Father to do it before the wedding.
- If a couple wants to bring a priest, they must present the proper ecclesiastical document and request permission from the Priest of Punta Cana. You can only bring a priest from outside in the Chapel of Punta Cana, NOT IN THE CAP CANA.
